Meeting remarkable women

One great thing about Web Summit is that you can meet great women. (The ratio was 46, 3% women the 2019 Web Summit). Attending the conferences or visiting the stands or in the special areas as I did last year in Lisbon. Joining Zoe Taylor (Ministry of Yoga Lisbon) for an hour of yoga each day at the Google stand was awsome. With Web Summit 2020 (Dec 2-Dec 4) going online, it is still possible to learn from remarkable women. Many actresses have slowed down or even stopped acting and have become successful business women. They are speakers at the 2020 Web Summit.

From acting to business

In 2008, Gwyneth Paltrow, born in Los Angeles and Oscar-winning actress actress in many films « launched Goop from her kitchen as a homespun weekly newsletter.” She also was one of the first total about gluten free and other detox cook books. Gluten-free is now mainstream. Celebrity as an actress does not entirely explain her success as a CEO and founder of Goop, now an empire of wellness and life-style, with an e-commerce website, a print magazine, a podcast, health and wellness summits. Shopping on Goop Website you can find Avocado Green Mattress as well as “The Martini” Emotional Detox Bath Soak, and at GOOP X HERETIC «This Smells Like My Vagina Candle ». The staff includes “a pleasure teacher” Isabelle Frappier. The latest offer being a the launch of « goop PhD to compile the most significant studies and information on an array of health topics, conditions, and diseases” a scientific answer to criticism about some controversial health products. Gwyneth Paltrow’s inner conviction, authenticity, feminine energy, associated with boldness in the choice of topics and products and ethical choice might be the secret for this huge success. Goop’s philosophy : pushing forward a new culture. « We operate from a place of curiosity and nonjudgment, and we start hard conversations, crack open taboos, and look for connection and resonance everywhere we can find it.» Paltrow herself is a resplendissant and slim woman, an incentive to follow her life-style.
